For our globally active HYDRO division at our location in Weiz, we are looking for a Senior Director Global Capital Business Turbo Generator (m/f/d) in the Turbo Generator department on a full-time basis.

 

Responsible for leading the business execution and development of the Hydropower Product Group, aligned with defined targets and in close collaboration with internal ANDRITZ stakeholders. The role ensures the competitiveness of the Product Group and governs its operations in accordance with business plan and established business process rules.

 

YOUR PROFIL

 

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable technical field
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in the power generation sector, including exposure to product development, project execution, or strategic business management
  • Deep understanding of power generation technologies and rotating equipments, market dynamics, and customer requirements
  • Proven track record in leading global teams and managing complex product groups
  • Strong experience with P&L responsibility, strategic planning, and growth initiatives
  • Experience in matrix organizations and working with senior stakeholders on a global level
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and inspire teams
  • High level of business acumen, resilience, and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including complex negotiations
  • Fluent in English and German; additional languages are an advantage
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work across time zones

 

YOUR TASKS

 

  • Lead and develop the Global Product Group in line with ANDRITZ Hydropower strategy, values, and vision.
  • End-to-end leadership and strategic development of the global Turbo Generator business / Product Group in line with ANDRITZ Hydropower’s strategy, values, and vision
  • Leadership and management of an international, cross-functional organization including Project Management, Engineering, Product Management, Sales / Key Account Management, and Commercial Management
  • Support and coach Product Group team leaders and employees to achieve performance and development goals
  • Ensure strong alignment and effective collaboration across Product Groups, shared functions, regional teams, and Customer Service
  • Assume leadership responsibility for a globally distributed organization with key locations in Linz, Bhopal, and Tiszakécske, ensuring effective integration with the main site in Weiz
  • Full P&L responsibility for a fast-growing global business, including ownership of annual budgeting and target-setting processes
  • Define and execute the global product and market strategy, including continuous development of the product portfolio
  • Drive sustainable growth through innovation, technology advancement, and process optimization to enhance competitiveness and efficiency
  • Oversee R&D initiatives and innovation efforts aligned with Power Generation market requirements
  • Ensure global product and service quality as well as long-term competitiveness
  • Supervise project execution across engineering, sales, and manufacturing to ensure operational excellence
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities, including strategic partnerships and acquisitions

We are legally obliged to state the collective bargaining minimum salary for this position, which is gross € 5.286,49 per month. However, we offer a market-based salary depending on qualifications and professional experience in any case.

Wasserkraftturbinen, Papiermaschinen, Walzanlagen für Stahl: Was ANDRITZ baut, läuft in Kraftwerken und Fabriken rund um den Globus. Das Grazer Technologieunternehmen liefert die großen Anlagen, mit denen anderswo Strom erzeugt, Zellstoff gekocht und Metall geformt wird. Angefangen hat alles 1852, mit einer kleinen Eisengießerei in Graz.

Daraus ist ein börsennotierter Konzern geworden. Rund 30.000 Menschen arbeiten heute an über 280 Standorten in mehr als 80 Ländern für ANDRITZ; etwa 3.600 davon in Österreich, rund 1.200 am Stammsitz in Graz. Die Aktie notiert an der Wiener Börse, 2025 lag der Umsatz bei 7,9 Milliarden Euro. Das Geschäft ruht auf vier Säulen. In der Wasserkraft baut ANDRITZ Turbinen und Generatoren für Kraftwerke, in der Sparte Metalle komplette Linien, auf denen kaltgewalztes Band aus Stahl und Aluminium entsteht – Material, aus dem später unter anderem leichte Autoteile werden. Dazu kommen Technik für die Zellstoff- und Papierindustrie und ein Bereich für Umwelt und Energie, der von Recycling bis grünem Wasserstoff reicht. In Graz wird das nicht nur geplant, sondern auch gebaut: Auf rund 95.000 Quadratmetern fertigt und montiert das Unternehmen Komponenten und führt Reparaturen und Umbauten aus. An den Maschinen stehen Schlosser und Zerspanungstechniker, in den Büros rechnen Konstrukteure und Projektingenieure an der nächsten Turbinengeneration. Hinzu kommen Fachleute aus Automatisierung, IT, Einkauf und Projektabwicklung. Wer technisch arbeitet, hat hier mit Anlagen zu tun, die jahrzehntelang im Einsatz bleiben. Und ein Wechsel von Graz nach Finnland, Brasilien oder China ist möglich, ohne den Arbeitgeber zu verlassen. Eine Mitarbeiterzahl speziell für einzelne österreichische Tochterstandorte weist das Unternehmen öffentlich nicht durchgängig aus. Gefertigt wird in Graz seit über 170 Jahren.
